The charge for a drivers’ medical examination is between £50.83 and £55 plus VAT, equivalent to £61-£66 including VAT. Keep an eye on the home page of this website for discount codes bringing the cost even lower.
Payment is made at the time of the telephone booking so please have your credit or debit card nearby when you phone to make the appointment.
If you prefer not to pay by card, you can contact us to arrange to send us a postal order and we will contact you to book the appointment as soon as we receive it.
Cancellation Policy
The charges quoted on this web site are for a normal medical examination for a provisional driving licence or driving licence renewal for a DVLA group 2 (bus or lorry) licence or for a normal taxi licence.
The full fee is payable by credit or debit card at the time of the appointment booking. This fee is non-refundable except in the case of an appointment being cancelled with more than three full working days’ notice, in which case a full refund will be made less a £5 (inclusive of VAT) processing charge.
No refund will be made for any appointment which the candidate does not attend.
If a candidate cancels an existing appointment with less than three full working days’ notice and at the same time books an appointment for a different date, although the full charge will be payable for the cancelled appointment, there will be a reduction in the charge for the second appointment meaning that we don’t profit from the rebooking.
The contract falls within the remit of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 and is subject to a seven-day cooling off period provided that notification of cancellation is made on suitable durable medium prior to the provision of the contracted service. The contracted service is deemed to begin from the beginning of the day of the appointment.
Free Retest Offer
Our offer of a free re-examination is subject to the following:
- You must have had the first appointment with Cotswold Medicals Ltd.
- You must have received a written confirmation from DVLA or the relevant licensing authority that you have failed to reach the medical standard and are not eligible to have a licence because of that.
- There must be a reasonable prospect that you will pass at the second medical assessment.
- The free re-examination appointment is available if requested within three months of the date of the first examination.
